Great detective work! I'd always wanted to see photos of Wheelus from that timeframe. The photo of the "Lady Be Good" memorial was an added bonus. Isn't that propeller at Dayton now?

Thanks very much for finding that link for us. I love those shots from Wheelus in the early 60s. The colorful F-100D's, F-101C's, the C-124's with white tops and orange day-glo markings and other aircraft recall a great era in USAF history.

The photos of Wheelus bring back a lot of memories. I had my C-124 there in the early 1960's also, usually parked in the same location on the flightline. Too bad their tail numbers are not visible in the photo. Maybe one was mine. One of the worst memories to this farm boy was how bad the reconstituted milk tasted in the mess hall.
