Hellcat, you've had a rough year so I hope it's all smooth landings like this one for you in 2009.

From a Brit buddy.

Thank you very much Dave, I appreciate it ... I miss the old man ...
Actually all is well, but just like all of us at times, I have my moments and melt-downs, but still fighting away at the deamons, .... 2009 will be a great year for all of us here on WIX. The economy will hopefully pick up and the warbird world will see a few new surprises for us all. Happy New Year!!!! Be safe and happy ....

Again Thx .... very cool stuff ....

Mark

GADS! I didn't realize the British carriers were so big! And howzabout some of those AB's getting after the weeds along the edge of the flight deck?

Love it! I didn't notice the weeds. This is what the Fleet Air Arm called ADDLs - Aerodrome Dummy Deck Landings. This is Royal Naval Air Station Eglinton, today's Londonderry Airport. It was also known as HMS Gannet, shore stations were given ship's names, using birds as the theme. Going offbase was called going ashore. Quaint Royal Navy traditions y'know!
