I saw this outside of the Happy Fisherman restaurant in Osage Beach recently. Great food, BTW.

Pop Quiz! Name some things that make it non-airworthy.

A few from the UK - the prop/fence post thing is true - we have a couple of ROTOL blades ex-spit which were used as such, farmers bought loads of them post war as cheap fencing!

turrets and astrodomes used as garden cloches, also T-6 style canopies were popular - especially Miles Master ones for some reason

the human being is a resourceful animal!

HP Hamilcar was used as a barn and recovered for the Tank Museum, various Horsa fuselage sections too....

or the most famous of all the legendary Weston on the Green Barn which was made almost entirely of Bristol Fighters! 3-4 of which are now flying!

This site shows a bridge made of aircraft parts, and a B-24 bombay door on a scrap pile!

My dad's neighbor used to have what seemed to be a F-86 canopy in his yard he used for a dog shelter. Not sure it's still there but as of a couple of years ago it was.

My GFs father has a floating pontoon on his farm, the floats are 2X F86 Sabre drop tanks

In the 1980 Texas Renaissance Festival participants' campground I met a fellow from Houston who had a Dodge maxivan with a B-47 canopy on top and some kind of cobbled up gun turret at the stern. That part reminded me of the remote turret on the combat vehicle from one of the Alien movies.

I read of where someone used the canopy of a P-40 for a doghouse down in Georgia!

There is a 4 blade prop in a flower bed at the entrence of a local foster care home. Looks like from a Corsair or Skyraider! :?

As a kid in Manitoba in the 50s I was shown several chicken sheds that were claimed to be the packing crates for troop gliders. The farmers bought them after the war, threw away the gliders, and kept the crates.
