Hi all! I need a favor, maybe....Gee Bee Y related

I'm on a Gee Bee Y obsession at the moment. Does anyone have pictures of the Golden Aviation Gee Bee Y? I've only seen the one picture of it on their website,

Does anyone know any of the Golden Aviation folks? Are they planning to build anymore? I don't know where I got this impression, but somewhere I was reading awhile back that either they, or someone else was going to make available plans and the tougher parts, because they had already did all of the hard work setting everything up. I hope this is true. I'd like to get on the pay, then build, then pay, build, as you go plan.

There was also a single seat model. Do any of these exist?

Not sure what happen to that group that was building the look alike Y models. Not a true Y relica because of many modern improvements.... but neat machines! I'll try to dig thru my Gee Bee photos. I think I have some Y shots. Lots of great Gee Bee pictures in the EAA book "Golden Age of Air Racing" that can be found cheap online. I am a big fan of the Gee Bee's. My favorite is the Z model... main because some friends of mine built one that Kermit Weeks has now.

A couple of weekends ago, at the Dauster Field, Creve Coeur, MO airport, I saw inside a hangar, a Gee-Bee project; it is sitting in the back of the hangar, with some other airplanes in front, so photography was not possible.

The fuselage is bare, needs covering, and I don't recall now if it had an engine on it, but I doubt it.

I have seen the same aircraft. It has an engine (the small one according to the owner). It needs re-covering and new wings.

He was happy for me to take photos but I couldnt get to it and I was running out of time.

Yes, I had the same results: I could go in and shoot photos, but the angles were impossible, and I hate to climb over airplanes and parts, because there is always the risk of damaging something by mis-stepping or falling, so I chose not to shoot the photos.
