How come I missed this movie? It's got everything!

Quote:
Warbirds
Synopsis:
In the midst of World War 2, a OSS officer leads a group of female pilots on a mission to deliver a secret weapon, only to crash land on an island in the Pacific after an encounter with a deadly storm. On the island, they must not only contend with a small band of Japanese soldiers but the native inhabitants of the island as well - vicious prehistoric Pterodons.
Genre:
Drama, Sci-Fi, Period

And for the usual incisive IMdB 'review':
Quote:
One has to suspend belief in viewing movies. I caught several discrepancies in the movie but it was entertaining and for a low budget flick was worth watching. It is nice to see some WWII flicks still being made. I found the female pilot to be very attractive and intelligent.

"Sure you did, son."

If you weren't sure you needed it for your collection now, another highlight:
Quote:
And of course, the lead actress has to take her shirt out from being tucked in and tie the ends together so her midsection is showing ( Daisy Dukes style ).

Quote:
Yes, she did. After all, they were on a tropical island.

I wish I had missed it. It was a while back when it came on, a Sci-Fi channel original movie. With sci-fi channel special effects. After about the the first 30, or so, minutes, I changed the channel and canceled the DVR.
Warbirds, Babes, dinosaurs, WWII era and thoroughly unwatchable.

What were the types of dinosaurs that starred in the movie?

Holedigger,

I thought Australia was just okay, nothing special. I cannot recommend it and my youngest daughter said she thought it was going to end on several different occasions but it just kept on going, like the Energizer bunny. It was a long movie!

As far as the Warbird aspect; they used a lot of Tora Tora Tora takeoff scenes (which are always good to watch) but the CG Japanese aircraft reminded me of another movie I didn't care for, Pearl Harbor, with its zooming unrealistic attempt at airplanes in flight.

For what its worth there weren't very many people in the theatre with us even on a Saturday night.
