Here's the first installment of the 2008 videos...this one might not appeal to everyone but I like it!

Good choice of modern beat combo for the bac.. er foreground music.

Course those good Aussie Acca daka boys would go better with a CAC product. ;)

Cool video, three questions:

1) How come in the early part of the video the tailwheel is stuck down when flying in formation? Was there something wrong with it then? Later on the tailwheel is up.

2) Did you take those videos from the front cockpit?

3) Are you getting checked out in the plane yet?

here you go...

It wasn't stuck down it was locked down...took time to get the parts

2) Did you take those videos from the front cockpit?
jimmy used his camera positioned on the glare shield...also used the B-25, B-24, D-18, and a C-47 for camera ships

3) Are you getting checked out in the plane yet?[/quote]
yah never know????

Jim, good video! I mean not too many people are posting higher quality footage of in-flight Warbirds nowadays. Though Im gonna have to be THAT critic and say, I think AC/DC doesn't complement a Mustang as good as it should. Sorry!

How about this song? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLvmaZtI ... re=related
(BTW. Dont pay attention to to the video, just the song)

Using the best compiled footage I could find, with great music similar to this, I've always wanted to make the best Warbird videos out there. But that dream still hasn't come to fruition.

Heres an example I found on ASB of one small and quick piece of footage that defiantly strikes a stronger cord with me. The unique shot and more timeless music makes for a more interesting overall presentation.

Jim, Im not trying knocking your video in anyway, and really appreciate all the videos you've done so far! The footage that was captured for this one is just great, i just think it could be stronger with a different soundtrack. All rebuttals are welcome.

I must be too old. I liked the AC/DC just fine. And I don't particularly care for AC/DC.

Its a great video. Almost ranks up there with the old "Don't Mess With Texas" PSA with the CAF.

Critique away! Picking music for a video is like naming a dog before you get it...its got to match the pace of the footage much like a personality. I think I have enough footage for two more vids this year. I really didn't shoot alot and a couple dvds were somehow damaged. I knew this one wouldn't appeal to everyone...in my mind it rocks!

Good stuff!

I thought the best part of the sound track came at about 54-55 seconds.

Great video!

I'm curious...how was the reliability of Betty Jane while on tour (and how many hours did she fly)?

I guess I show my age when I say I'd recognise Clapton, or Hendrix, or the Allman Brothers, but I actually would not have been able to tell you who the band was in the sound track...

But the video really is wonderful -- I'm looking forward to the next one! I guess if necessary I can always put a Santana CD or something on the stereo and turn off the video sound and enjoy the flying!

(I hope you realise I'm joking here, Jim -- I thought it was all great...)
