Call me stupid, I thought I read a while back that there was a company in california that was building like 15 new,scratch built p51 mustangs to flying condition was their goal..Did anything ever become of it happening? Any status updates or pictures somebody could share? what company was it?

Here is one website http://51-factory.com/index.html and I think HJGB is the airframe that was slated to be reverse engineered by a different company with the same intentions.

There was Gerry Beck's project in North Dakota as well, no? I thought his plan was to build 10 Allison powered Mustangs.

Not sure where that stands now after his loss. :?
