Dang, I was out there a week ago, and planned to stop there after visiting the immitation ghost town named Gold Field. An hour wasted in Phoenix trying to find a breakfast diner, looking for an A-26 that was at a locked- up high school (it was Sunday, my bad), and a few other stops cut my day too short.

I should have stopped here first! :(

Why does Old Grey Mare have feathered props?

Chris, Might see you next time. The annual looked like it was moving along well. All of the fuselage panels were removed.

easier to install that way, engines have not been run since it arrived several years ago, props were removed for AD compliance

That's cool, makes sense. I didn't know she was down for a while.

When is "Maid" going to fly, or has she already?

Not to be picky, but the "T-6" is actually a SNJ-5, s/n 90725.

I flew back seat in that one. A great ride, I'm telling you. Well worth the expense !

My pilot was Bob Jacobson, a great guy who made me feel right at home and was quite good demonstrating the SNJ's manoeuvers for me.

Notice the smile after the ride:

Correct Michael. It is an SNJ-5. We've just always called it a T-6 because more people who are not warbird nuts like us seem to recognize the Army designation rather than the Navy one. I'm glad you enjoyed your ride. "Jake" is a terrific pilot and a great guy to be around.

I had a chance to attend the Southwest Military Transport Show today at Falcon Field, Mesa, AZ. The three B-25s are still at the field and it appears that one may be moving soon as it now has new rudders installed.

Note new rudders installed.

A great day in AZ.
