The restored Sabre that will be flying during the Canadian Centennial celebration in 2009 has made several flights and will soon be painted in the colors of the "Golden Hawks" RCAF flying team from the late 50s/early 60s.

I can't wait to see this beauty in those Golden Hawks markings and I hope it gets a chance to slip down into the U.S. sometime this coming year.

:)

Chris - yes, thats Rene's plane, a real beauty. It was really neat to see them fly a 4 ship formation a little more than a year ago here during the Wendover Jet blast.

I agree completely Tom, but I think it should fly in formation with the Sabre, also!

Tremendous A2A shots from an F-18, on the Sabre's arrival at Cold Lake for painting.

Just another wonderful story from Dave O'Malley!

Wow - GREAT pictures and excellent story. The picture of the Sabre flying over an Alberta landscape in Golden Hawks colors looks so real.

Can't wait to see it.

Particularly liked this shot. Interesting to see the link with Bob Hoover at Reno.
