Couple of things -

1) The spar issue is for all B-24 series aircraft. It's part of the annual for both Ol' 927 and Witchcraft in addition to any Privateer that may fly.

2) My understanding is that Mr. Lacey will be flying the aircraft that is in the hanger in the pictures linked above. He got 2 or 3 with the intention of using them to make 1 good flyable aircraft and a spares plane (or two). I don't know if it's going to be a circuit aircraft or not, but as his DC-3 has been more active in recent years, I wouldn't be surprised if we see both on the circuit in the next few years together. The plan I heard was for the aircraft to be reconifgured as close to a United B377 as possible and painted in the appropriate United Airlines livery of the time. To me this would be huge as there are no aircraft in the "white top" United scheme at this time in a museum or flying, so it'd fill a noticeable void in their heritage.

remaining 3 what?

Privateers = 3 remain (although I only saw 2) and one just left - I wish I'd known it was due to leave as I would have happily gone up there to get some flying shots - see here for info on these

I meant the Privateers. Sorry.

Anybody know what is happening with those C-82 fuselages?
I'd hate to see them scrapped. Might make a nice "Phoenix movie set" display for a museum.

Hi,
I noticed N880V missing from a visitor's list dated last month (nov.)
on airliners.net
http://www.airliners.net/photo/Lockheed ... 1152285/M/
it says it left soon after the auction at KGEY (2006?)
Question; where to, who owns it now?
thks.

I meant the first "Phoenix" with Jimmy Stewart, not the Dennis Quaid Re-make from a few years ago.
One the first version had a C-82. The re-make used a "dollar nineteen".

update and question - drove through Greybull last week - there are at least 4-5 KC-97s still there as well as a few P-2Vs and a couple C-130s.

Are they all sold?

My personal favorite in the H & P collection was the P2V that they had modified with the T-56's off of a Spanish P-3. Being a former Orion pilot, that thing had me salivating performance-wise.

But aparently there were spar issues and a little too much power from the T-56, so it never got beyond the mock-up stage. Was still sitting out in the boneyard the last time I rolled through Greybull.

I believe the C-97s are owned by Clay Lacy.
Where all the C-119s gone ? there was at least one that could have been made flyable, besides the 2 that flew out all ready

C-119 N15501 was recently ferried from one place in AZ to another, part of Hans Lauridsen's collection; see http://www.ruudleeuw.com/guestphotos-20.htm
Btw, still no sign of N880V Lodestar, the registration is not current on N-inquiry and on goolging no recent images on Airliners.net etc

Good thing he did not try to retract the gear, the gear switch is inop, it will extend the gear, but not retract it. Everytime I ferried the plane I had to retract the gear by using the emergency gear switch.
