We were towed down 30R at Hobby and it was a GREAT relief when we pulled up to the new digs safe and sound.
A few hours later we pulled a baggage cart and 20 ft. tall crane-hoist with the CAF van around the perimeter road of the airport and got to about the last 100 yards from the hangar when the crane popped loose from the cart. Many unforgettable moments last Saturday!!!

It never would have happened without a great deal of effort from a great crew. That and a fair sprinkling of expletives and sweat!

The last trip over was in full dark and Airport Security came upon us with our flaps down (so to speak) and they were awestruck by the airplane and they forgot to give us a hard time.
It's kinda like having a beautiful girlfriend... people are so busy staring at her that they forget to check your inspection sticker!

Fifi will eat TR for breakfast. Nothing like lapping the competition, even if they did cheat to get in. ;)

Wish I'd gotten a photo of that photo on the wall in Dave's cave....

Well now the RACE is to see which gets to RENO first!!!
Actually I hope it's a photo-finish tie!

Also... does FIFI need an internal bomb-hoist?
Mr. Haney's Warbird Emporium might be able to fix y'all right up!

I think we're okay on bomb hoists, but I'll get with Dave on that. I'm a nobody nowadays.

It's not that you're a nobody Gary, it's that you're so busy going everywhere on business, no one remembers what you look like around there... ;)

As of 4:30 Nov. 25th Gulf Coast Wing is no longer at the Nelms Street Hangar. YAHOOOOOOOODY!!!

We are now in WR-5 on Travelair St. where Neuhaus St. tees into TravelAir (will get the address later  )
It is the hangar with the glass atrium on the side next to Continental.

We have limited access to the hangar for the next week, but we will be working on Saturday Nov. 29th.

Happy Thanksgiving all you WIX maniacs!

Way to go ! For the Houston Old Timers it is the old Sky Travel Hangar.

For the unlimited heavy class at Reno, Senimental Journey won the first race, and the trophy is in Mesa as proof.

Jim Orten was flying SJ at Reno and was frustrated because he could not find anyone that would loan them a 51 to race, so he took SJ around the pylons.

Jim Orten was later killed in the crash of his PT-22, along with Jim Malony of PoF
