Oops, didn't mean to mislead people, should have labeled that last one as "Antiqued" version of F9C-2 Sparrowhawk ILLUSTRATION"

Was just trying to fit in with the "period" looking pics

The Sparrowhawk is not a scan, it is an illustration I produced, built in 3-d program, rendered out and "painted" in Photoshop.

That is truly incredible. What is the program that you are using and how much time goes into making one?

NATHAN......I can honestly say I have not bought any warbird photos in at least 15 years unless they were stuck in a group of WACO photos! Speaking of that, I am willing to trade all these originals away for original Waco photos from the 1920's-40's! Step up boys and they'll soon be yours! Plenty more where these came from!

The software package I use is Softimage 3D (what they did Jurassic Park with WAY back when, it is now XSi), then pop over to Photoshop. Probably spent 30-40 hours on it. Really hard to track, between chasing photos for reference, checking measurements, just plain guessing at measurements and rebuilding things that didn't work the first time!
Here is a close up detail. I detail as much as I figure I will see for the shot I sketched up before starting and usually don't detail what I won't see.....bit of a wast of time in this sort of thing!

Interesting to see that you actually have reflection in the cowl. I have to applaud your work and I appreciate your time and effort doing this. Now if I could only talk you into a Waco......

The Curtiss X-934 was in competetion with the P-26, and I believe it has the distinction of being the first US aircraft to come with an enclosed cockpit (YEAH YEAH P.C. THIS and spin on it)
