I found a guy that has some old Allisons I guess were planned for boats. He sold one for and has another in a crate. What are these engines worth?
Who knows about paperwork and all.

They can go anywhere from 5k to I suppose 70K. Just because its in a crate doesn't mean its ready to go in an airplane.

Was the engine ever used in a boat? if it was raced, it's probably all wracked and not worth the cost & effort 'cause when we raced them in unlimited boats they took an awful beating with BIG RPM's followed by abrupt throttle pulls for the turns, then right back in the carb up to your ankle. But, at the time they were abundant and cheap and dependable, Merlins were pretty fragile if the driver wasn't attentive, or the crew chief turned the screws all the way to eleven-

No no, its full scale

Its a -63. I guess its specific to variants of the p-39/63. I dont know what use it may have in the warbird movement given possible lack of paperwork and its not "fresh." 600 since rebuild. It won't fit in my Neon or my ground bound Mustang (65 Ford). I am gonna try and get a look at it next week. Ill tell ya one thing, its not being given away. If it was id already have it in my backyard gathering noise complaints!
