That a Mace missile? I checked the s/n and 55-2863 was an F-100D, so no luck there. Also, which C-47/DC-3 is that?

The Crusader is supposedly at the Evergreen restoration facillity. Back at the turn of th century I took some pictures (now lost, I'm afraid) and sent them to the Navy as the poor old F-8 was just slowly rotting away and had been heavily vandalized. So they had it removed and sent to a place that would restore it.

Every time I've tried to contact Evergreen about Buno 145326 I get nothing- and I know for a fact this particular F-8 was a Regulus missile chase plane in Hawaii before ending up as a Navy/Marine reserve plane at NAS Atlanta. I'd really be happy to see it restored as the Regulus chase jet and not some spurious Vietnam squadron like the one in P'cola.

Try checking 62883 on the missile. That is what the number looks like in the original photo.
