I heard an aircraft landing on the museum runway, and looked out the shop door to see this. My pics didn't turn out great because it was so far away. These are from the museums site.

First time I have ever heard about this plane. Is it owned by the Air Force?

A paint scheme lake that would be a real head turner though!
Wouldn't be an authentic scheme though! But since when has that stopped them!?

Edit: Ah someone is faster at google than me.

Looks like they're flying it to a museum for display: http://buffalo.bizjournals.com/buffalo/ ... ily46.html

I was wondering where the plane would end up. It's been around here in Buffalo for as long as I can remember and has been operated by Calspan for the entire time. Never got any pictures of it flying but I was able to get a nice close up look at it last year at the Niagara Falls Airshow. I'm glad it's going to a good home as the article I read in this past week's Buffalo News didn't mention anything about it's resting place.

That depends- This is modified to be ugly. Some others were ugly off the drawing boards.

I believe they used it to develop George Jetson's car. 8)

We had a nice piece in our local paper this past weekend. Can't wait to get a chance to see it.
