A bad idea poorly executed. There are two AVN8s at Creve Coeur, one is a project that I think might have been an old TWA bird and another that is more or less flyable. John Lohmar drew the short straw a few years ago and acted as the test pilot for it's first flight in 20+ years. When he landed, he got out of the plane shaking his head and wondered into the hangar. He was muttering something about it flying like it looks. :lol:

Yeah, i think the AVN-8 was parked at the wrong hangar when Waco's good looks were handed out.

I have actually flown a ZVN-8 and it is quite a nice flying airplane! The best part is that it is easy to land. Just drive it down to the runway, chop the power and it settles. Using the flaps is a little bit strange because they are not hydraulically operated nor cable. They operate on a vacuum. The nose really pitches up when the flaps come down. If your aware of it then no problem. In the air it flies and cruise right along like any other Waco Cabin. I would take one if given the chance!

Anyone know whatever became of Vince Mariani's VKF-7F? A classic if ever there was one.

The main winding was of the normal lotus-o deltoid type placed in panendermic semi-bolloid slots of the stator. Every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversible tremmy pipe to the differential girdle spring on the up-end of the grammeters. Moreover, whenever fluorescent square motion is required, it may also be employed in conjunction with the drawn reciprocation dingle arm, to reduce sinusoidal depleneration.

Yes...it is located in Cleveland and is for sale but beware....still has 1960's fabric on the fuselage but has new cover on the wings...asking WAY TOO MUCH for it.
