Please note that this is not a political statement. I merely found a thread about this on another forum I belong to, and I felt that it might be pertinent to the discussion here:

http://change.gov/

There is a section on this website for members of the public to submit their viewpoints/ideas on policies for the next administration. I realize that yes, this does seem a bit absurd, and that it is very similar to merely writing one's representatives. However, I would recommend that everyone here post on the site, expressing our views on the treatment of the warbird community by the government/military, and how it can be improved in the future. I am not saying this is the be-all end-all solution to these problems; the next administration is going to have quite a lot on its' plate to deal with. But please, give it a chance.

well if congress passed the law and the public can go get these planes(according to what has been said here) has anybody applied to the navy to go salvage these? Rex sounds like the man to go and get them...does the navy want the birdcage corsair or is it up for grabs? I heard their are some p40s up in one of those lakes too?

I'd guess that the Corsair and another aircraft are likely pretty high on the Navy's list...
