A few kits I've finished recently...well ok over the last few years.

Sweet 1/144 Hurricane and a Academy 1/72 AT-6.

Jim

P.S.: I will also issue a challenge to Church, Ollie, and Steve T to see some of their work!

Hi Jim et al--

Didn't initially notice this modeling forum was on here...Eventually, when and if I figure out how to do so, I'll post pix of a few of my models. I fear it'll be a trifle anticlimactic though; I'm a better artist than modeler, and I'm fair-to-middling at best even at that! I've nothing of the quality of Jim's 1:144 Huri.

I build models in streaks--will do three or four in a month, then nothing for three years. Currently (as Jim and Mike H and a couple others know) I'm working on a 1:72 diorama of a slice of the Walter Soplata property, circa 1982. Three aircraft are completed, being an Airfix/MPC F-80C (standing in for a P-80A), a Tsukuda AD-6 (standing in for an XAD-1), and a Matchbox F4U-4 (standing in for an F2G-2)! Walt's machines, in the state most of them were in at the famous farm--they looked like heck--are an ideal subject for someone with my modeling skills. The stuff done so far looks awful...and thus looks perfect! :-)

I tried to explain to my son that the quality of the finished item is unimportant, as long as you enjoyed the modelling experience and want to build more, thats the important thing!

Mind you, I always come away from the IPMS show at Telford, feeling a little inadaquate :)

Happy modelling!

Heh, thats why I've stayed away from modeling for so long. I stick to Corgi and other die cast planes at the moment.

I went down that route as well but in the end I sold them all through eBay with the exception off the 1/72 Lancaster PO.S!

PS
What time is it where you are and shouldn't you be in bed! :)

Heh, nearly 6am. I work nights and sleep most of the day, so I pretty much up while our Australian and the euro-asian friends are on.

Hi all--

No pix to post yet, but six (of eight) models for my Soplata diorama are now completed: F2G (F4U), F-82, AD, TB-25K, F-80, F7U. Hope to get pix of these in the next few days, then figure out how to post them. The diorama itself should be done by mid-July all going well. No idea where to put it though...!
