18 months ago and a thousand or so new members should I delete the thread? I've never understood why folks have to search and see if I posted the same photo 2 years previously. Ya'll need to take your dog for a walk. I'm doing that right now woof..woof

oops, sorry Jack...no critisism intended. I can see how it can be read that way, my fault. I enjoy all your pics, and the only reason I noticed the 2x was that when I went to save the photo, it already existed on my drive.

Keep sharing, and I'll keep enjoying!

I love the stories of Lindbergh flying as a civilian in the Pacific during the war. He did fly Corsairs. I know he has at least one kill in a P-38. Anyone know if he had kills in any other planes?

Charles Lindbergh on Emirau Island, May 1944. Unknown who is with him in the picture.

Apparently Lindbergh flew a Corsair loaded with 4000 lbs of bombs and dumped them RIGHT on top of a Japanese shore battery, his claim to fame in the Corsair....single handedly showing what a Corsair could carry if it had to......pretty cool stuff.

RE: The hat....
Just in case you weren't funnin'...
People of Mr. Lindbergh's age, like my Dad, ALWAYS wore a hat when outside. My dad wore hats just like that l-o-n-g after it went out of style to do so.
I doubt Mr. Lindbergh is planning to fly the a/c wearing that hat, but...
