Mitch Sammons was kind enough to bring his Ju-87 replica down from Maine to give the Germans some air support







We also have the Fi-156 to help spot the allied forces at the other end of the field.

There are some pretty lame under scale copies out there but that Stuka is really neat!

There used to be a scaled version of the Ju at the NWM museum in Elmira. Is it the same one? Looks like it.

It was a good idea, it just didn't work.

Ryan - yes, I was on the roof of the hangar with the hand held. The Stuka would orbit to the North, then I would call him in when the reenactment was ready for some air support.

Jerry, hope you are feeling better. Just put Columbus Day Weekend on your schedule for next year. We are already in the planning phase, and hope to add some German armor next year.

I believe the Stuka is about 3/4 scale. I saw a real one in England earlier this year, but without them being side by side, it is a little difficult to tell. I am not sure of the origin of the aircraft. Mitch has owned it for about 10 years, and flies it 2-3 hours per week. He does have a smoke system in it now, so it make for a more realistic shootdown.

I am pretty certain that this is the 70-75% scale replica built by Louis Langhurst some years ago and featured in EAA's Sport Aviation. It did spend some time in museums but I am not certain where. I was at last years weekend and this year was nearby at my son's football game. When the Stuka flew right over the field a lot of people noticed! We had company that didn't seem to interested in attending until after they saw the Stuka but by the time the game got over it was too late.

Not to get off topic, but yes, I'm doing fine. Still have a catheter in until tomorrow, but they got every bit (it was detected about as early as they can!) and nothing is in the lymph nodes, so I'm pretty lucky.
I had to wait until the "Salute to CT's Veterans" was over before I could go in for surgery.

Hope none of you ever have to go through it. Not a lot of fun.

That Stuka is cool, shame there arent more, they could do a "Tora" type of act.
