Was sorting through a few boxes at the hangar today and came across a brake unit bearing the Bendix number 356041. Also found some seperate shoes with a part number of 356040 so I guess they're all related. Any idea what A/C type they're off? Would be interesting to find out as we'll never use them and if someone else can..........

Thanks,

G

Can you post a pic or two?

We have Bendix Multidisc barakes on the -54. Same as on the C-119. (Changed in Canada from the Goodyear brake)

Not having access to a Brake parts manual at the moment, I may be able to id the parts by sight.

Anyone have a C-119 parts manual, brake section they'd like to offer up?

Not for a T-6, maybe BT-13 or Stearman? I think the PT-19 had expander tube brakes.

Wonder if they are P-40.
Is the 14x30S a wheel/tire size?

Aren't P-40 tires the same as Mustang?

Correct. Expander tube brakes built by Hayes.

I believe the P-40 uses the same size wheel (not the same wheel type though) as the P-51.

This is in the UK, ex RAF stuff I believe. Not sure that helps much though!

They look exactly like the brakes for the 33SC wheel as used on the wartime Twin Beech's like the AT-7 (late war version), AT-11, C-45 A through F.
