Looks like great workmanship, even eclipsing that of Mr. Diemert!

Are those in airworthy condition? I wonder what the chances would be to bring one to the US to license it, then return to Japan for a "tour" like POF has done with their Zero?

Also imagine the possibility of 4 or 5 "authentic" (as opposed to T-6 based replica) Zeroes at the Chino Airshow next year????!!!

I'd love to see that happen! Those aircraft are just awesome looking! Hope they get to fly soon.

Absolutely airworthy, Brandon...with operating Sakaes.

Just one thing: "Harada-san" and "Diemert" shouldn't even be mentioned in the same post!

They are airworthy, but they are not allowed to fly because of the Govt.

I see a K5Y1 Willow trainer in there as well, a type I thought was extinct - any info? How much original/how much replica? Flyable/taxiable?

Sorry, I just can't help myself. I no longer have the same respect for pop rivets that I used to.

I'd love to see the collection sometime. It looks top notch!

Pop rivets

I saw enough pop rivets in the deimert zero back when to last me a lifetime.I still shake my head when I think about it.What is really scary about the whole affair was that some screwball flew it in that configuration.

Is this a hint at what we can expect next year or are you just smoking some pipe?

The Willow trainer is a replica. I don't know if it's airworthy, but I'm pretty sure it hasn't flown.

You wouldn't fly a Zero with auto parts, PVC piping and a B-25 QEC for a powerplant, what's wrong with you? :)

Sounds like your talking about the Val. You forgot angle iron reinforced spar caps and hardware store 3" long screws every foot to hold the angle iron in place.

What is the background on these planes, I have not heard of them? Are there really more airworthy Zeroes with original engines? If so why aren't they permitted to fly. As for me, I not only would fly a Diemert Zero, very carefully with minimum g force, as long as it had an airworthy certificate. I think it would be a great privilege to fly one of the best handling and most important fighter in history.

One of Diemert's Zero's had this as well. It only flew once though. It is now at Pensacola after a "re-restoration".
