Devil Dog on the road again!

It was great to see Devil Dog and crew at Ft. Worth this weekend!

Nice set up, good crowd around the airplane all day.

I'd think it'd be cool to see this one have a turret installed in the rear section like a D/C.

Also heard that it was grounded again. Whether or not it will get a ferry permit to get back to Georgetown I don't know. Gary may have some more insight?

Well having the FTW FSDO based there I sure didn't help matters....

ok for those of us out of the loop any reason that can be discussed as to why it would be?

Indeed, I am interested to hear why it got grounded since they just spent so much time and money fixing it after the engine failure (they did more than just fix the engine). It surprises me that there'd really be much of anything to find wrong since they were in just about every nook and cranny of the airplane during this most recent repair period.

Good to see a picture of Beth Ann hawking her wares. Hope the mechanical problem is not a major issue. Certainly nothing a good winged decal can't fix.

You should've seen Beth Ann under the wing of the R4D at AirSho. That and they made sure that even though they didn't have a plane, they gave Steve Brown a shirt (which he wore all Saturday night) to make up for it. :)

I'm the one that grounded the airplane, NOT the FAA. There are some issues that need to be addressed, but I'm not at liberty to discuss them until I personally take a look at the airplane (hopefully sometime this week) and we figure out a plan to address them. Thanks for understanding and for the moral support with the Dog.

One question about the Dog for CAF. Are Ol' Oz and Georgia still carried on it as honorary crew chiefs? I found that quite moving the first time I saw it up close since I used to work with Ozzie twenty odd years ago.
