Dude!!! Easy out? You've got two periods of overtime and there are only three relief skaters. Get your a$$ back in the game. Oh yeah, and your head.
There's plenty of room for all of us on the ice. Old time hockey, eh? Eddie Shore?
Your a valuable member of the team, just maybe spend too much time in the penalty box. That's ok.
Sleep on it Dude. See ya on the bus 'cause we play Cleveland tonight!

Hellcat, right now you sound like a player who has been traded to a team north of the border with no hope of making the playoffs.

Fraid I'm in the same zone. I'll be peeking over your shoulders for a while, but not posting. The political tirades have just worn me down, and I'm having issues of my own--looks like the cutters will be splitting my head open again.
Ya'll be good. Or at least be good at it.

A New Earth, by Eckart Tolle, has helped me tremendously to deal with my life in such a way that now I'm happy much, much more of the time than not.
For me, getting help learning about how to deal with the inner issues is no different than getting help here at WIX with my aviation questions. Find a supportive group/community that works for you that takes you where you want to go.
We, all of us, are all wrestling with the same demons, and there is a great body of resources out there to help us, created by those who have gone down the path before us.
Good luck and stick with it; working on the inner "stuff" is the most worthwhile work of all.

Hellcat and Muddy have both had some interesting posts on WIX, and I wish you guys well. As for a drinking too much, there is no problem that cannot be made worse by alchohol. I have seen it happen to several people close to me. There are times, not when I am anywhere near flying that. one beer might go good with food or a glass of wine. It genereally makes me relax and see the humour in things. If could not stop at one, or if ti made me nasty, I'd never take the first drink. I think research has shown that some people have a gene that leads to overdrnking and alcohol problems, so should avoid it.

Hellcat, I have walked the road you are on right now. My advice would be to get yourself into a program and talk to a counselor. I never got into the alcohol but did have a hard time with painkillers for awhile and was on the road to either jail or death.
I found that having a good counselor to talk to was the biggest help with dealing with depresion, anger issues etc.
I really hope this is of some help for you and I wish you all the best, these type of problems can be very hard to deal with on your own.
All the best

Hellcat and Muddyboots,
you both contribute very well to the WIX conversation. Maybe a break will do you good, maybe not.
Dealing with the demons inside is important though. Everyone has different ways of handling things, some exhibit stress externally, while others bottle it all inside. We now know your way of dealing with it, but it's no big deal because we're all human and capable of making big and small mistakes.
Seeking help can be good, but you need to find the right person to talk with. There are probably several people here on WIX that would be more than happy to support you both. Just chat, or share words of wisdom... I'm open to help.
There was a mention of Ekhart Tolle... I just started reading a book of his and it is great stuff. I suggest giving it a try.
Take it easy,
David
