Nice one, although not a black one but rather blue. Does anyone know when the yellow was changed to orange?

Anyway, here is the Hovey Mustang as N35N

Which was the black painted Mustang that sat at Santa Rosa, CA for years? Someone had backed a truck into the tail?
What timeframe are we talking here?
Late 70s, maybe 1980?

I have no knowledge of any damaged 51 sitting up there, but my first thought goes in the direction of Jack Hovey's N3580 which was black with a white N#. Unfortunately I'm at work right now, so can't readily find a photo of it. Will look for one to scan tonight if I have the time. Getting ready for a three week California trip on Thursday morning!

Maybe it was San Jose? I went to A&P school with a guy whose dad owned the plane. Forgotten his name though, but I don't think it was Hovey.

Send me a PM or an e-mail if you are coming out to Chino. Maybe I can meet you there.
