Hello,

I recently talked with an interesting Japanese fellow who was considering a trip to the Philippines to look for Japanese warbird wrecks. He thought that there were still a lot of wrecks out there. I never heard of any documented wrecks out there. Interesting stuff.

Hi Ron:

Could you get me his contact information? I am also interested in the same type of project. I am planning a trip out that way within the next month.

Thanks,

Chris

The only non buried aircraft wrecks i saw in the Philippines were :

- The remains of what i believe is a Franck. Situated next to the village of Porac (not far from Clarck). My wife parents live in this village and brought me to it. Not much left (mainly engine core, undercarriage legs and a twisted cannon) as everything alumium above ground had been recovered and scrapped for years.

- An Oscar in 40 ft of water at the end of Dumagete airfield runway (negros island).

Otherwise, read a few articles of a very intact B-24 in the central mountains of Mindonao. Enyone knows more about this one ?

Also heard a lot of stories from locals about very intact Japanese planes within a 50 miles radius from Clarck; but every time we asked them to bring us there, they became suddenly very busy, or had a sudden urgent appointment, or ....
