Google is such a useful tool. That red and white C-182 N8865X hopefully has a new seat cushion installed. I'm sure he needed it after getting intercepted by F-16's after busting the ADIZ.
14th entry on the list.

The Beech Bonanza N390 shows up on airliners.net:

http://www.airliners.net/photo/Beech-V3 ... 0256265/M/

The caption indicates it's been sitting there since 1977. Googling turns up a Bethesda, ME real estate agent as the owner. Man, 31 years of tiedown fees... At least the groundskeeper has been trying to keep up with the grass!

And I betcha, that if you approached the owners of some of those sad looking airplanes, and offered to buy them, their answer would be no.

I have found similar situations while traveling across the US, airports with one or more airplanes that have not flown for years, and probably never will again; elsewhere, many airplanes continue sitting and slowly sinking into the ground, but the owners will not sell.

There is, for example, a Luscombe at the Albuquerque, NM airport that has been there forever; the owner probably dead by now, but someone must be paying for the ramp space...

Saludos,

Tulio

You're right Tulio. I have seen it at airports all over Southern California. Derelict and dirty, these birds are treated like red-headed step-children. The Faberge Martin 204 at Camarillo is one of many examples...

Is this an active airport or is this one of the fields that was shut down after 911 stranding the aircraft due to its proximity to the Capital.
