After months of diliberation, and travelling the world without packing a suit case, it now seems likely that the present MRS EN830 and I will be venturing to the colonies this March.

Can anyone recommend the Tico Warbird Airshow at Titusville, Florida on 11 - 13 March ?

While it doesn't have the aircraft attendance that it was known for in years past, it is still an event worth checking out if you are in the area.

Here's a link to a write-up I did on last year's airshow.

http://www.floridaimpressions.com/warbi ... co2004.asp

I'm not sure what is in the works for this year, but you can usually count on lots of trainers to be present, along with a few P-51s, Wildcat, B-25 or two and possibly a heavy like the 17.

It's an annual event for me, and I've always found it to be an enjoyable experience.

And don't forget Kermit Weeks' "Fantasy of Flight" museum in Polk City, which is just off Interstate 4 between Orlando and Lakeland. Lots of neat stuff there.

I guess the present MRS EN830, is going to be a bit bored with all of the aviation related visits that we are going to have to do, I think we'll need more that 2 weeks to cover all of this.

Booked our flights last night, and arrive in the Colonies at 18:30 on the 11th, leaving on 25th.

Thanks Col. Rohr, Gators is something my wife wants to see, I'm not sure that the Gators will be so happy with the prospect !!!

I'm certainly going to head toward Polk City and Mr Week's collection, Epcot is also on the agenda, though I will be avoiding Disney, which does not interest me at all.

Thanks RER, I'll drop Chuck a line, it would be nice to get behind the scenes and have a look at some of the airframes that Kermit has stored away.

Ian,

I hate to tell you this, but Epcot IS Disney

Was over there at Christmas and New Year and had a great time, managed to sneak away from the wife and kids to poke around Stallion 51, Tom Reilly's place, and also Warbird Adventure's temporary hangers - it was great

Hope you enjoy yourselves

Regards,

FoF does have a behind the scenes tour and restoration shop tour.

The aircraft selection is usally low and I think Tom highlighted the usual attendees. Mr Weeks does not bring the fleet over and the northern weather can keep a lot of people away.

Well, no matter what, at least it's an airshow which is better than nothing at this time of the year.

Missing me by about a week, I'll be there from March 3rd to 7th.

Sorry to hear that Scott, it would be nice to meet a few of the Colonial enthusiasts, could you leave some money behind the bar please. :D

Two or three years ago, a cold front moved across the Southeast and stalled north of Jaxville. This closed off the route that a lot people were taking to come down.
