I would say PM Spanner but he may be a little busy at the moment.
In another topic he posted that he has battened down TR as much as he can and has a weeks worth of food for him and the cat and a bottle of tequila!!! Something about if the food runs out the cat ought to be fat enough to eat with the tequila to wash it down.
Check the other Hurricane Ike thread

The hangar doors face northwesterly...

The bomber is rolled back as far from the doors as possible.

All bets are off if the winds are truly bad.
Hobby Airport is in an area that traditionally floods in the streets around the airport.
The ship channel and Galveston Bay aren't THAT far away.

Other than that, not a worry in the world!

Best wishes and prayers readily accepted for both us and LSFM.
(Scholes elevation 6 ft.!!!)

Spanner, best wishes and prayers readily given. I don't envy you the days ahead without power. I went through it in Houston in September '61 and August '83, and I never want to do it again!

Been there, done that (yes, both Carla and Alicia), now fixing to do 'er again (with Ike). It'd really suck, but for knowing there's going to be taquitos el gato at Spanner's place Tuesday evening. The whole thing will then have been well worth it.

Wonder what LSFM birds managed to fly the coop?

The field elevation at Hobby is 46 feet above sea level for those who didn't know. The TR hangar is built a lot more substantially than many I've been in further north, so it will hopefully withstand what Ike throws at it. As for all the folks in the entire region, take care and we're thinking of you. Be safe!

Best wishes for a safe weekend for my friends down in Harm's Way.

(What dumb-ass names a hurricane "IKE"? Tina Turner is probably NOT surprised...)

Keep Safe-

Best of luck to all those on the Gulf Coast.

I have a potentially dumb question. Since TR is flyable, why not re-locate the aircraft temporarily? I know there's room up here right next to Aluminum Overcast...

TR is down for some major maintenance including the AD work on the wing spars. You can keep up to date with their progress on the "TR We have a Goal" thread.
