On Saturday I went over to Osceola, WI for Motorbooks' annual Wheels & Wings event. I didn't expect much to show up given that the Minnesota Wing of the CAF was holding their open house on the same day. I was pleasantly surprised when 2 N3Ns and an L-13 showed up.

Pirate Air painted the "51" N3N-3 this spring. Thanks for posting!

Don was having a float built for the N3N. Am surprised to still see it has wheels.

I watched the L-13 and N3N depart from Anoka County-Blaine Airport, Saturday morning.

The L-13 is based at Anoka. I'll have to dig through my photos and see if it is the same one I saw there a few year back, I believe there are 2 on the field.

I've seen the center float out at the museum, any idea if Don has the outriggers? I've never seen them.

Don had a gentleman helping with the float. He got married and moved away. Don has also been working on a French plane he bought. Perhaps the float project has been put on hold. May need to stop in one of these days.

I believe that is one of Jim Younkin's Mullicoupes, not an original Monocoupe.

Don's N3N does have a retractable landing light under the left lower wing in the red band.

Don lives about 3 miles from me on a lake, so he is anxious to finish the repairs to his original center float which had mostly hanger, or "dock" rash. I saw it about a week ago in his garage and I guess its about 1/3 reskinned. His sponsons are with a shop in southern MN.

Not that I'm complaining, but you said wings and "Wheels" right?

Where are cars? Or are the wheels you speak of, the ones attached to the airplanes?

What kinds of cars showed up?

Cheers,

David
