OK, I'll keep this short & sweet. I'm starting my flying lessons and will need my sunglasses but I need 1.75 reading lenses.

Who out there knows a retail outlet for these stick on lenses. Give me an answer and I'll pull the thread immediately.

The last pair I got several years ago were either at CVS or Walgreens....They're great!!! Hope you find them.

You can also visit your local Safety Supply store and find really cool wrap around safety glasses either clear or in several types of tint with diopters from +1/2 on up. Also try Homer and/or Slowes in the tool dept.

I have a pair with really dark brown tint (my eyecare pro says brown lenses filter out more UV than green or blue) that I use when riding my motorcycle, lets me remain cool and still read the menus, if they get scratched, they're cheap enough to not bother about.

I tried the stickons and found that with fairly rough use (like crawling around in aircraft doing inspections) that one would come off and usually get lost making you look like (and see) Popeye the rest of the day, not a happy trhought if you lose one on a short, busy final

I bought a pair of 1.50s from Sportys a number of years ago and they work great. You can carefully trim the stick-on lenses in order to tailor the amount of lens to fit your sunglasses. I've pulled them off the glasses several times and they re-apply nicely.

I use them on my polarized lenses as well, can read the charts and look for traffic with absolutely no problems what so ever.

They are pricey but you can look at Costa Del Mar Sunglasses.

They make super high quality polarized sunglasses and they have a new line that has the built in diopter.
They are fishing sunglasses and the premise behind it is to have the magnification for rigging right there ready to go.
Like I said, pricey but they are the best sunglasses I have ever had. Like looking through the world in HD.
Costa Del Mar's can be bought with prescription lenses too.
Ok I'll stop now. I better get a check in the mail from those folks soon as much advertising as I just did.

Here is how I trimmed my lenses to fit my beat-up twenty year old sunglasses. If you have an overhead panel to deal with, you can also apply a strip of the corrective lens to the top of your glasses. I made a set of safety glasses that have upper and lower correction that makes my "real job" activities a little easier.

For tonight's flight, I found a pair of aviator style sun glasses with built in diopter at CVS for $14.99. Should work fine until I figure out how to deal with my Randolph shades my son bought me.
