My dad used to describe the process of uncrating, unboxing, unwrapping, and then stripping the Cosmoline off of parts for tanks, trucks, jeeps, etc. Doing whole airplanes just had to be NASTY!

I know how much that stuff sucks. When Air heritage pulled the C-123 out of the desert, we had to get all of that preservative off of it. Nasty stuff.

Cosmoline, tape, and whatever else was used to seal them for over-water shipping.
