Placed on US civil register as N22897

It is Mk.XVI SL542 (Supermarine Spitfire)

Found Around Quebec

Owner Now...Marcel Deschamps of Air Marcel and Jocelyn Cote.

Purchased from Anthony Gurak out of Florida (storing it in Quebec?)

More to come as I get it.

i recently read in western mariner magazine that a fellow bought a p-40 as surplus from the rcaf in 1946 an barged it to his home on one of the gulf islands here in british columbia, where it has been sitting pretty in his shop/hangar for 60 some odd years!! it is a polished aluminium finish to boot!! maybe davey mac or someone else from bc can add some more to this story. ive got pics of it in the magazine but i dont have a scanner. maybe this is old news, but its new to me!!.

Does this have any relation to a paint scheme it once had ?

If so, must have been interesting.

Back in the 70's I read an article in Air Classics before I quite buying it, about the P40 going away on a barge to Can-odda, I sometimes wondered what happened to it.
