whirlwind didt have vultures it had peregrine basicly an uprated kestral,vultures were in the avro manchester that then (with merlins)became the lancaster.

Second on the Vought Vindicator, and I'll add a TBD Devastator as well. Continuing the naval theme, a Brewster would be great to see on the circuit.

A real P-35 and A-27 in Clark AB markings.

It seems to me if our wiley friends the Brits could put a Vulcan back in the air, Yankee ingenuity could loft a B-36 or B-47.

Now if I could only find one of those P-66s still in a box unassembled in that cave in China....

I remember reading (Air & Space mag maybe?) that there is a civilian-owned B-47 on the registry. Can't remember where, though.

Have you looked closer than China for that rare bird SNJ-5? Can't ever tell whats in the secret box, or in the underground bunker. Personally I would like to see The AT-10 flying, but it is going to take just a little more time and work.......................(insert the word large cashes of money here)

1)Would like to see the Hagerstown Air Museum's C-82 Packet restored , polished, flying, and with an approved ride program. I saw it fly into Oshkosh many years ago and it was a fascinating dinosaur.
2) Week's Sunderland flying again. It was awesome to see fly and splash at Oshkosh, and it would be fun to be running around from position to position inside taking photos and getting grease on my t-shirt.
3) the former NASA B-52B. It was on flight status less than ten years ago and would be great for heritage flights and to free up active duty B-52's. It is very historic, and dropped the X-15 and many other projects.
4) A C-130A with the roman nose, three bladed props, polished aluminum finish, and with all those little porthole windows reinstalled all over the fuselage. THere are currently some civilian C-130A's flying.
5) an Me-110 or JU-88. Not improbable but very unlikely.

Man, I STILL love the footage of the Vindicators in the movie "Dive Bomber"...

Been wondering lately - how hard would it be to build a replica of the ol' Wind Indicator? It had a welded steel tube fuselage, which is easier to crank out than the semi-monocoque variety. The wings and gear would be a bit more difficult, but hardly impossible.

Yeah, I know - come up with the cash, and it's no problem ...

The main winding was of the normal lotus-o deltoid type placed in panendermic semi-bolloid slots of the stator. Every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversible tremmy pipe to the differential girdle spring on the up-end of the grammeters. Moreover, whenever fluorescent square motion is required, it may also be employed in conjunction with the drawn reciprocation dingle arm, to reduce sinusoidal depleneration.

I second the P-61, and maybe a Guardian, and I remember someone a few years ago in CA. had a AWAC ver of a connie for sale, it was a flyer too I think?

Ahh yes, my favorite bird as you can tell from my avatar. Unfortunately MAAM's is no longer a flyer. I inquired at WW2 weekend about it and was told that it blew it's hydraulics (sorry if that is not proper terminology I am gearhead illiterate) and hasn't flown since '97 nor do they ever plan to fix it It is getting a nice a weathered look though

I've thought a little on how you might make a "close" replica of a Vindicator.
As you said, the fuselage should be relativly straight forward. Tubes fabric, systems etc. Just need the cash and someone with the skills.

Since the wings fold, I've often wonder if you could use F4U outer wing panels and create a new center sectio to mate them to? (even if they don't fold), They do have a simliar appearence. Also, you might be able to modify F4U tail componets to replicate the SB2U, as they are very similar in appearence...and I know all those with more knowledge about airframes will jump on that statement, but they do look similar, so in my limited knowledge, it might work.

Oh yeah, it would have to be painted in "Dive Bomber" movie colors!!!!!!
