You know it's true.
What's really funny is to see about 40 people all doing this in unison.

I'm confused, as I DO clean the dust off my sensor occasionally! :?

Or were you talking about the 'chimping'?

Chimping indeed.

Somewhere on a sports photography board there was a shot of Barry Bonds, having borrowed a shooter's camera, chimping. 'Twas kinda funny.

What I couldn't get over was the guy right on the flightline in Oshkosh standing on a ladder. Does anyone have any idea why someone would do that aside from being an a$$hole?

Fri Aug 15, 2008 5:07 pm

He must have been from Europe - that kind of thing happens all the time at airshows over there. Also the tennis-umpire chair thing as well, even scaffolding towers. And yes, the guys who do that are total @ssholes.

And don't get me started on the personal tents / windbreaks / chairs chained to the fence from first thing in the morning to mark out your territory while you f**k off and spend the morning wandering around the static, only to expect to come back as the flying starts and barge your way to the front to the space you've previously 'reserved' in front of everyone else.

I may have the answer for you.
I saw one person using the ladder... and asked... Hey...what is with the ladder.
He said, "To get the picture that is not like yours and everyone else on the flight line."
Yeah, everyone else has pictures of his back... :x

What is worse is waiting for a shot... and having some guys girlfriend/wife who is pregnant talk out loud the entire time about
how the "guy" in the Cirrus named Wagstaff must be crazy with all the loops and turns...
Only a man would be that foolish... men this... and men that...
my boyfriend... aahhhggg
Oh the pain... the pain...

Dude...
I still am amazed at her flying... regardless...

Note for all concerned ... if any of your girlfriends are pregnant... don't have her walk the two miles out to the flight line in 90 plus deg...
She will complain... there are no facilities... and no... Bluedharma does
not want to hear about the new childbirth facilities in the Denver Metro area! Or the cricket sounds she will hear while giving birth.

Mudge,

Be careful what you start!
People who live in glass houses...
I think this is what you could call a gotcha.

Edit: Changed photo to an earlier Mudge image.
Don't want him feeling anything but his normal Curmudgeon self.
He's too important to WIX!

I think you mean 'from the funny little island that's not Ireland off Europe'? I didn't notice any ladder prats at La Ferte Alais this year, while Duxford seemed to need a low pass over the crowd with cheesewire.
