Looks great Doug, when do you all think it will fly again? Are you all going back with the same paint??

They have mostly been trying to get the P51 back in the air. They have done some work on the P47 and should get back to it when the 51's done.

Hey Doug,
Will the fuselage be painted silver or polished ? Same question on the P-47... Thanks,

Greeeeeaaaaatttt...and all this in less time than it takes to hang a useable engine on the Corsair......seriously, what is the holdup with the engine for the Corsair, that bird has'nt flown in like 3 years! Would love to see it out and around on the airshow circuit and in Archie Donahue's colors, but it has YET to happen!

Did I miss something about the 51? Is all of this work for general restoration and upgrades or did something happen to the airplane.

More than likely if the longerons were replaced this would be due to corrosion usually found on annual/condition inspections, and monitered to a point that eventually they need replaced. The only way is to take the thing completely apart and I would assume if you were doing this then might as well redo the whole thing. Its looks really nice can't wait to see it finished
