I think that nose is owned by Kermit Weeks. I will admit that I'm not 100% sure...obviously...

Here is my updated list of B-26 projects/statics/storage:

40-1370 ID given to the Hill static project. As we learned here it is based on one of the camper noses and maybe includes wreak parts.
40-1459 MAPS static project. Mostly 1459 but with the nose of 1501.
40-1464 In storage with Kermit Weeks. Mostly 1464 with the nose of 1459. Was airworthy for a while.
40-1501 Pima static project. Nose from one of the “camper” Marauders. Parts from a third airplane I believe.
41-31773 Highly contested NASM bird.
43-34581 Static display at USAFM
44-68219 Static display in France

Noses

41-31856 One ID given to the "camper" Marauder. Which is which? Could be at Hill or Pima? Second nose is not Ided. Were these more then just nose sections?
41-35075 Nose at Borrego owned by Kermit Weeks?
? Is their one more nose at Chino?

Any additional info is much appreciated.

James - Thanks for the clarity on the two noses from the camper Marauder.

Jim

Is that owned by Aero Trader, or is it just stored there on behalf of Tallichet's estate?

It would be nice to have a B-26 back in the air on a regerler basis, does Weeks ever fly his?
Okay, now who can splain the airframe in the background, not the B-29 I recognize that , but the utter one? WTF is that? Looks cool, can't put my mind on the make/model

The CAF's A-20 crashed many years ago. There are currently no A-20's flying anywhere in the world. The next A-20 to fly will be the one that was sold from the Lone Star Museum in Texas to the gentleman from Australia. That A-20 is currently at Aero Trader in Chino, being restored to flying condition. I've heard that it will be some time (1-2 years possibly) before it flies again.

The next series of A-20's will be the ones down in Wannagrata, Australia, at Murry Griffith's Precision Aerospace. He is restoring 3 to flying condition. I believe most of those are wrecks recovered from Papua New Guinea. I've heard those are a long ways away from flying, with restoration having barely started.

And of course, you have the two wild card A-20's:

1) Kermit Weeks', which you see in the previous picture, being stored at Borrego Springs,

2) The ex-Tallichet, ex- Air Heritage, and now HAG A-20, which supposedly is being restored to flying condition. I haven't heard much else about this aircraft. Anyone have any updates?

The future is bright for the Havoc/Boston series! :D

But dim for the B-26. Seriously, its time to start thinking about an airworthy B-26!

New Build if need be. I'd set the production limit to around 6 or 7. :D

Okay, do you have a spare $ 20,000,000 lying around?

Money doesn't grow on tress, you know! :o

It will never happen, because the final replica airplane would be worth WAY much less than what you put into it. Besides that, it would be cheaper to start with an actual restoration project.

Very true, but I think the airframes that are left for a restoration project are almost non existant.

Has anyone ever seen pictures of the Hill AFB wreckage that was recovered from Alaska? I'd be interested to know how intact it was, etc.
Also has anyone seen pictures of the current project? I didn't see a link to it that worked on their site.

Thanks!

I have seen photos of that airplane, and it was torn up pretty badly. I saw the pictures on the web somewhere.....oh, yeah, right here:

The link is dead for me this morning, too. I looked at it just before I made that post last night, so maybe it is a temporary outage. If not, I wish I'd saved the photos! :? Try it again later, I know it was working when I put it up.

As to the condition of the airplane, it was pretty badly damaged by the initial crash, and the recovery team dismantled the remains into smaller sections for transport.
