Is this going to be eventually restored to new static condition? Is this one of those ones that Gary Larkins got out?

Just who recovered it escapes me at this moment, CRS has set in. It was recovered from a lake in northern BC where it had been stripped and abandoned after an emergency landing on the ice during the war. Should be a pretty good starting point for a restoration, if you could find all the missing parts.

I just wanted to see if any progress had been made since I was last down there about 8 yrs. ago. There hasn't... :(

I wondered the ID of this aircract, there was no signage around the P-39 or anyone to ask about it. It also looked stored rather than being worked on. If this is the Carpenter Lake P-39 then it would have been Larkins who recovered it. When he went to export it to the US, it was stopped at the CAN/US border and stored at the BC Aviation Museum for a while until Larkins managed to get it out of Canada. The last time I seen it was at the BCAM.

Below is a pic from the other side.

I am just having fun with you all. My dad had a Goat same color and everything as that one in the background of that shot. Very cool. I will say that the Civic has come along way, and that one in the pic is a great color.

Awesome, I didn't know you were allowed in the GUppy. Cool.

When did they open the Guppy? I would have loved to go in. Thanks for the pics. Also of the P-39. Mine came out lousy.

In this picture, what is the big red T handle in the center of the cockpit? Can anyone confirm what it is? Larry Kraus, are you reading this?

The girl taking my money at the front desk said they just opened the Guppy up to the public but they charge you an extra $3.00 per person to go inside it. It was a nice surprise when I found out we could go in it and is worth the extra admission.

For those who are interested, I posted my Tillamook photos to http://s293.photobucket.com/albums/mm57 ... Tillamook/. They're pretty much the same as Chris's so I won't bother posting them to the forum.
