Some of us get to live a long life, others a shorter one. It is hard to fathom many times how those who should be allotted a century or so, may in fact get a much smaller share of time.
Your description of her is beautiful, caring, and paints a picture of someone whom we'd all like to have known.
Whenever our time comes I have always thought it matters a great deal that someone close cared about and respected us. I am sure your feelings for her gave her comfort in these hard times. And I am glad for you getting to share a wonderful spirit, even if briefly.

Eloquence escapes me at the moment.
My sincerest condolences--and wishing quick comfort and healing to family and friends.

I'm sorry for your loss, Rich, and feel even worse that her own family, who should have appreciated her, made the situation worse. As Bill said, your description of Regina made all of us wish we could have known her. She was a rare soul, intellectually curious and open to new ideas.
Like Dan, I have no eloquence to offer. At times like these, I fall back on the words of my favorite poet, the Japanese monk Saigyo.
We saw you off
And returning through the fields
I thought the morning dew had wet my sleeve
But it was tears

Are you kidding me? I can think of no greater eloquence than what you've all offered. Thank you so much.
