Don't miss anything out and the whole thing will come together. The main culprits for it's possible demise are, Tom Daly, Jim Kick, Dean Ryder and Paul Richard. The Spirit of St Louis which was being restored has been reported "Slowly rotting away"
There is already a court case pending, so please put your shoulder to the wheel. This is a Brit' taking an interest in an American Institution!

so many museums are rife with politics & red tape lately, which has lead to the demise & deterioration of some fine warbird institutions in recent years. a real shame.

"At least Old Rhinebeck is continuing with, in the words of Museum President Hugh Schoelzel, "The most spectacular airshows in the history of Old Rhinebeck!" Today they had their biggest crowd of the year, but only had 3 pilots available, and only flew one of the collection aircraft in the show, the Fokker D.VII, which was accompanied by several privately owned aircraft. And people pay $20 for this??"

I remember a five plane dogfight (all ORA planes) at the end of the shows, those were the days....

Does anybody know the status of the Curtiss Fledgeling at Rheinbeck??

The last known location was with Ron Alexander in Williamson, Georgia for rebuild. The Curtiss has been there for years and rebuild status unknown. Maybe some WIXers in the area could scope it out.

It is THIS museum that needs to bounce back even harder then ever before. Your right, it is an american institution that cant be lost!
