I believe they were working on a Vampire, T-33
and possible F-86. Fred Ihlenberg crashed his Vampire
there fatally a few years ago.

Is that a Michigan ANG F-4C/D? Looks like the familiar checkers on the splitter plate.

Merle's a great old guy, I had the opportunity to sit and talk with him at a CJAA Jet Blast at Wendover, UT last year. We struck up a conversation because my father is from Ontario, OR. He used to own a paving company, and has a pension for warbirds. He used to fly, mainly his T-28. He was the guy responsible for bringing in the majority of the A-4/TA-4's that are around the country. He also owns a MiG-23. Occasionally, and without any semblance of schedule, they will light one up, taxi to the end of the runway, do a full power run-up INCLUDING the afterburners, piss off the neighbors, taxi back, and shut down...my kind of guy. He's as nice as could be, and would welcome anyone that loves old jets. If I remember right, a few years ago they (he and some of his partners in crime) got in trouble for having an impromptu "airshow" for some of the fire bomber crews that were there on the field. Evidently the F'nAA inspector that happened to be there didn't find the show nearly as entertaining as the fire bomber crews did.

Wow!
From what I have seen, it was very cool!
I had heard about the F-4, but I had no idea about all the cool aircraft he has there.
I am going to try to stop by again and get some more pictures during the week.
Visiting this was like finding some money on the sidewalk! Wow!
This and Nampa (warhawk museum) will make for a nice break this summer!

Last time I was there, there were two F-86's...a Mig 21 and a Mig-17, two T-33's....as well as the planes in the photos on this thread, there also was an F-111 sitting behind some hangars...Cool stuff in the high plains!
