On the same subject The RAF lost a F-4 through the wing being left in the folded position and the pilot trying to take off. I have also heard of an F-8 and an A-7 being lost in the same way. Have any one of you guys heard the same thing? Or are they jus aviation "urban myths"?
I've heard of several jet carrier types being lost due to being cat fired at night, despite the safeguards. (Not heard of an RN / FAA ? RAF F-4 though, not that counts fore anything, not being my field...) However, a couple of US aircraft managed to fly
despite having folded wings, after a cat firing, and I wonder who can fill us in, this having been discussed before...
