MIG-21 , New Pics

Sun Jul 27, 2008 4:05 pm

Hey there everyone, I am back home from my Afghanistan rotation. Thought Id share some photos I took there of a pair of Mig-21's for those of you who are interested. Actually there were 3 there, plus lots of scrap!
Yes they are T-55 tanks in the back ground.

They have been sitting there since the Soviets tucked tail, and ran!

Glad to be home-

Cool pics Dave. Thanks for your service.

Too bad you couldnt slip one of those Migs into a C-130 for the ride back. :D

Great pics. Lots of neat stuff out there. I saw that they recovered WW1 tank from Afghanistan and some WW2 aircraft out of Iraq.

Good stuff, please post more if you have it.

Glad you're back in one piece, Dave...

This is groovy stuff... the MiG-21 is my fave of all the Cold War-era Soviet birds.

Here's an older view of '375', circa 2002.

Fade to Black...

Looks like two of them have moved?

All three were sitting parallel to the runway and parallel to the tanks last summer.

There was a lot of construction going on around the big trash burner across the road, though.

yeah, some contruction. mostly expanding the trash load.

CES uses the MIGs in their training area now.
