The Latest on the Navy Meeting

Thu Jul 24, 2008 8:21 pm

Hi All,

Well I just got done talking with Buddy Macon and the topic of the meeting came up and we both agreed it was the right time to try to get this back on track.

Now my question for all of you is this who should we ask to be part of this meeting, second beside the ownership question what other items should be discussed.

This will not be a Wix's sponser event unless Scott wants it to be. Feel free to post about it.

if you have any question or would like to talk more about this feel free to email me.

Thanks
Rob

Could you expand a bit on this subject for those of us not 100% in focus on this?
Ya see, when I left High School, they gave me a crystal ball, but I've used it so much it's now just a frosted marble-

Sorry, I should have referenced the past threads. Here's more info from the Colonel, and for anyone interested Look up threads from "Col. Rohr".
Hi Don,

Please post this on the thread,

Also if anyone really wants to know the history tell them to do a search on the Wix.

I'll try to give you a call on Sunday evening

Rob

The Navy Meeting,

Here are some of the original topics that were going to be discussed. These are the ones that Buddy and I went over and feel that should be discussed.

1) Over all ownership of crashed aircraft.

2) Ownership problems with naval aircraft that were surplused with out proper sales paperwork

3) Ownership problems with aircraft on loan to museums with out a clear ownership

4) A guide line for civilians wanting to work with Pensacola on recovery's.

5) Discussion on the Historical Preservation Act and US Code 470

Now these are the ones I think should be discussed. Their are some other items that could be brought into these discussion, but I think these 5 are the ones that need to be addressed. Now I think as I did in the past a small group to start of with is the best. I would like to see some folks from Museums and some folks within the Warbird movement be part of the round table discussion. As I have already stated this will not be a Warbirds Resource Group event, this will be open to those who would like to be part of this historic meeting.

One thing to make clear, this meeting will not change over night the ownership problem with the Navy. What I(we) hope to do is to start the process of final removal of the ownership problems. This is going to take some time but at least we now have allies within the NHC.

If you wish to be involved or think someone should be contact please feel free to contact me via Scott or Ryan.

Great to see, that the Good 'Ol Kernel does not give up!

Must've been the Moxie, huh?

Good work, Rob!

Hi Tulio, You know we have to give the Colonel his Moxie intravenously! It's the only way to get enough Moxie fuel into him to maintain his intrepid pace and stamina! I'm going to have to opt for a mainline to keep up!!

Tulio,
You know that wouldn't have anymore effect then an aspirin on The Colonel

Nothing in the modern chemistry recipe book would ever work on the Kernel : )

I guess, that would force our options towards cattle prods or anything with electrical shock capabilities : )
