Windsor Air Display "Wings of Power"

Thu Jun 26, 2008 12:16 pm

The Canadian Historical Aircraft Association (CH2A) will host an air display on August 2 to reunite Lancasters FM212 and FM213. The CWH will be bringing down their Lanc for the event and the plan on hacing both Lancs displayed outdoors together. Other warbirds expected include:

The Russell Group- Spitfire and Bf 109
Vintage Wings of Canada- Spitfire, Hurricane, P-51, Corsair
Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association- Harvards
CH2A- Lancaster, Mosquito, Fleet Fawn, Chipmunks (2), Stearman, Harvard
CWH- Lancaster

I'll definitely be going, can't pass up the chance to see 2 Lancasters in one place.

Excellent. As a Windsor native I wish them the best of luck.

That's not only two Lancs, but with consecutive serials FM212 and FM213. Should be a special event even though, presumably, it is just the fuselage of 212 that will be displayed.

Will be very interested to see if Russell's AC make it to this event, can't see him flying John Romain in to pilot the 109. Maybe Robert E. from VWoC can bring her down?

If they all show they could do a really nice formation with all of these Warbirds :D

Rob Usually flies the Hurricane in the Victory flight for VWoC although I'm sure he woudl love to fly the ME 109 again. the Mustang, Spitfire, Corsair, Hurricane, formation should be at Ottawa's airshow this weekend.

I talked with Rob Gillman @ Geneseo and he said as far as he knows it is not on the schedule to be in Windsor for the BF109 and Spitfire :( .

I was really hoping to see if they could redo the BBMF at Windsor.

Too bad about the Spit and 109. Still looks like it will be a fun show.

I also noticed on the ch2 site that it is not called the " Workers for Victory " but just a Lancaster visit. I wonder if VWoC are still planning on going?
