St Louis seems to be the ideal place - Central location, near existing tourist destinations (Arch, Branson, Pro Sports), and nice flying terrain.

Yeah, that Arch really attracts the tourists from around the world!

Of course, who would want to come to southern California where the weather is usually good, corrosion is light, it isn't too cold or too hot/humid, and the warbird density is high. By the way, in the winter here in SoCal you can go skiing in the morning and hang out at the beach in the afternoon. Or drive to Vegas in a few hours, or go to Disneyland, or go to Chino... 8)

Did I slip on the P-40 engine :? Yes I looked it back up sorry I should have said inline V-1710 model. Please I hope you all do not find me any less of a person.

As for sothern California, Earthquakes, make for expansive construction, fires, riots, and I like four seasons and in St. Louis I can get a little snow. True flying over the vegas strip or running tours in a classic bird would be nice I still would pick the middle of the country. WE are slose to a lot and could have rides out west or East say in a DC-4! :P

How was the flight? Did you get to move around to the different positions?

As for the North North Airlines, no but think of painting it up like the North Woods in the Fall. We could fly leaf watching trips :P

But I think it would be a hard sell because who but the really diehard would want to see my aircraft in Northern Maine. But as a summer/Fall base as an alternative or special trip location, it has prommis

Well, as I wasn't around 4 years ago...

Bomber Heavy: B-24D

Bomber Medium/Light: B-25H named "Pretty Patti" (Great Uncle flew one in the Pacific)

Naval Fighter: F-8 Crusader (Grandfather worked on the last prototype)

USAF Fighter: RF-86D in 15RS colors named "Pretty Patti" (Great Uncle flew one over China and the USSR)

Trainer Retract Gear: T-6C (Great Uncle trained in one)

Trainer Fix Gear: BT-15 (Great Uncle trained in one)

Transport: C-47B in 10CCS colors named "Saylor's Trailer" (Great Uncle flew one over the hump)

Any Type of Jet: VT-39 Saberliner in 89AW livery (Great Uncle flew one as Ops. Officer of the 89th)

Any Type of Helicopter:MH-53M

If you haven't picked up the trend yet.... :)

Actually, it would be kinda cool to have a collection dedicated to my Great Uncle's career with aircraft representing all the types he flew over his career. Would be kinda hard to get a few of the aircraft, but I think it would be one of those cool projects. At least I can satisfy myself with doing models of them one day from the great collection of pictures he has of his planes.
