So, there's been talk of how the Vancouver area used to be a great warbird community, but over the last decade or two, it has slowly been getting quiet(er). I know that for some people involved are not interested in all the publicity.
I'd like to try and start a revival here. There were some suggestions of just starting a little fly-in, and letting it grow on its own. I think that's a great idea. There is a small but good group of warbirds around, mainly Harvards, T-28's, CJ-6's, but there are other nice birds around. Not to mention just a hop across the border is Bud Granley's collection in Blaine, as well as the Heritage Flight Museum located in Bellingham. Go further and there's more and more.
As for the best location, I think CZBB (Boundary Bay Airport) is the best option because they already have a little tiny airshow each year, but with few airplanes on display. The airport is very large and has runways to handle warbirds of any size.

With this thread I'm really looking for input and suggestions. Hopefully there are people here on WIX that have experience with this stuff.
I figure that a "Fly-in" with an open invitation to all warbird and vintage airplane owners would be a good start. Seeing as how there is a bigger population of vintage planes in the area, and they certainly can't be ignored.
Then I need to figure out how to entice people with nice planes to come from further and further away.
As you can see from this scatter-brained thread I don't really know where to start.
I'd really like to do this, and maybe there's some of you out there that wouldn't mind helping me out.
