Assuming the rim came off and caused the problem, as opposed to a blown tire, the P-63 wheels (as on LL) have a split rim and a locking ring to hold the outer piece on. If the ring pops out the outer part of the wheel is not secured. It happened to my Dad in Bald Eagle (long ago) as he was just under takeoff speed. Fortunately he was able to control it and although it went off the runway with a gear swing and a new tire she was flyable. Jim
