I was looking through my copy of World War II U.S. Navy Air Combat, By Robert Lawson and Barrett Tillman. When I came across this statement on page 98.

"In November 1944, a PBJ-1H was launched and recovered during carrier suitability trials from Shangri-la ( CV-38 )."

When I read this I immediately thought of the thread on the Mustang carrier trials. http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21732&highlight=essex

I'd really like to see some photos of the PBJ trials.

Where can I find them?

There's a number of other photos out there... hopefully someone will have decent images of some of them. I'd be especially interesting in a larger version of that trap photo.

Thanks,

It would be interesting to see a closeup of the tail hook setup.
