Hello,
on 13May08 I was visiting here; a report on-
http://www.ruudleeuw.com/usa08-chino.htm
Two issues I am struggling with...
1. unidentified forward fuselage DC-3
(I have yet to update the page with info on the Convair cockpit)
2. unidentified Lockheed Lodestar in the 'storage area'
I have nothing to add on the DC-3, no clues.
About the Lodestars I saw 3 here during my visit,
1. unidentified, no markings, metallic
2. 'AM 711'
3. N41CW, airworthy, in immaculate condition (c/n 6124)
Bob Ogden's book has 2 Lodestars: N177L and AM711.
N41CW may have been there because of the upcoming air show.
N177L would be c/n 2178.
Except I have a note from Aviation Letter Jul07 that N177L became N41CW
on 23Jun07...
Mike Zoeller's website seem to confirm that if I look at the livery of
N177L: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/m.zoeller/N177L.htm (though the
nose of N41CW is less 'pointy'..).
OldProps website offered 4 aircraft: N5088 - N6012 - N1000B - N3779G/AM711 at Chino...
My own notes offered for N6012 a 2004 report as being 'white-washed',
nil markings...
Is this the one: N6012 ???
Advise appreciated

N177L was a Tri-gear Howard 250 as I recall.
Thus the pointy nose.

P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.

S: Took hammer away from midget.

I could spend a year in California and Arizona just checking out the "Bone Yards". I am always fascinated with the stuff that turns up in both places.
